To help drivers in Avon, Indianapolis, and Plainfield, IN, decide, Andy Mohr Volkswagen puts these vehicles head to head in this 2021 VW Jetta vs. Hyundai Elantra comparison.

VW Jetta vs Hyundai Elantra: Performance Abilities

2021 Volkswagen Jetta performance Avon, INWhen looking for a fun, powerful, and engaging driving experience, the standard VW Jetta has more to offer you than the standard Hyundai Elantra.

The 2021 VW Jetta runs on a 1.4L TSI® turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. It delivers 147 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, and gives you full control over your drive with a standard 6-speed manual transmission. An 8-speed automatic is available that also lets you take control of gear-shifting with Tiptronic®.

The 2021 Hyundai Elantra also comes standard with 147 horsepower, but its standard 2.0L 4-cylinder engine can only muster up to 132 lb-ft of torque. Instead of coming standard with classic manual transmission, it works with a Smartstream Intelligent Variable Transmission. If you want that engagement and connection that comes with a 6-speed manual, you’ll need to upgrade to a higher trim level on the Elantra.
