VW Passat S: Turbocharging Comes Standard

Take one look at the VW Passat and you’ll notice that this is one sporty ride. It’s all thanks to the standard 2.0L Turbocharged engine which earns up to 174 horsepower and 206 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is even fuel efficient, earning up to an EPA-estimated 23 city MPG and 34 highway MPG.¹

This engine is paired up with a Six-Speed Transmission that really makes the most of your performance. You’ll accelerate smoothly so you enjoy your more spirited drives with full confidence. This transmission even comes with a Sport Mode which allows you to tune your car for tighter handling so you can really take on curvy roads with aplomb.

This vehicle also comes standard with all sorts of safety features. Drivers will be well taken care of during a collision as this vehicle has been designed with a Crash Optimized Front End that redirects force away from the driver and front passenger. This vehicle also comes with Side Curtain Protection® head airbags to protect you if you’re in a rollover accident.

However, protecting you during an accident is one thing but the VW Passat is also designed to avoid accidents completely. This vehicle comes standard with a Blind Spot Monitor in order to help you watch your blind spots while you’re on a busy road. If you’ve got a long ride ahead of you, you’re going to want to be able to settle in easily and the VW Passat SE makes that simple with a standard Dual Zone Automatic Climate Control. This system is designed to make it easy for you to set a target temperature as your vehicle keeps you at that set climate. This is great for when you don’t want to constantly manage the fans.

Highway driving will be simple in this trim as well because it comes standard with an Adaptive Cruise Control system. When you turn this on your vehicle will maintain a steady speed while still slowing down to match the speed of cars ahead when you catch up with traffic. If it starts to get stormy outside, this trim also comes prepared with a set of standard Rain Sensing Wipers. If rain starts hitting your windshield your vehicle will activate your windshield wipers automatically. The wipers will even match the speed of the rain, so you have optimal visibility no matter what.

Finally, if your seat’s position isn’t right for you, why not change it using the standard Eight-Way Power Driver’s seat. Using a set of buttons on your seat, you can articulate your seating angle in eight different directions. This gives you total freedom to find just the right position for you.
